Honorific Titles (Shogo)

These titles are normally only used when talking or writing about an individual. All AKR instructors are referred to as their instructor level during classes and or seminars.

AKR Official Ranks

These ranks are awarded by the AKR Board and are only offered to Full AKR Members -- these ranks are denoted by [AKR] after the Rank and Title. 

AKR Instructor levels

Senpai – open to 1st Dan to 2nd Dan.

Sensei – open to 2nd Dan to 4th Dan.

Shihan – open to 5th Dan up.

AKR Instructor Certification

Open to all AKR Instructors with an approved coaching qualification -- FREE to members!

Student Membership

Students that train at ‘AKR Affiliate Member Schools’ are Automatically Classed as the ‘AKR Student Base’ and are hereby referred to as ‘Aikoushin Kobujutsu Kai’.
